This Week In The Garden - 21/02/22

It’s been a busy week at Broadspear clearing all the debris from Storm Eunice, but we are getting there! As spring is nearly here we are getting busy getting everything prepared. Here’s what I was doing in the garden this week.

I chitted my seed potatoes last week so if you haven’t done yours it’s a good time to do them. Learn more here why it’s important to chit your seed potatoes before planting them.

The aftermath of the storm has left so many branches and twigs everywhere. I spent Monday clearing and breaking them up into kindling. Stored in a dry place, it will keep us going for the rest of the winter.

I ordered all my tomato seeds as they are the first seeds to be propagated because they take the longest, so make sure you order your tomato seeds soon. Here is the list of tomato seeds I got:

  • Gardener's Delight

  • Sungold

  • Costoluto Fiorentino

  • Sugar Plum

  • Noire de Crimée

  • Indigo Rose

  • Chocolate Cherry

  • Santonio

  • Akron
