Add a bit of sunshine to a chilly, wintery week. It’s my most liked recipe on Instagram and the most downloaded on my website, and it likely helps that it’s incredibly simple to make.

It’s also deliciously moist with wonderful hints of cinnamon and nutmeg spices, and a dreamy creamy orange blossom frosting — utter heaven. It will last for a week in an airtight container, and without the frosting on top, also freezes really well, so make double.

If you find it hard to get your hands on the orange blossom water then use the juice of one orange instead. Either way, treat yourself to this autumn cake, and serve with a delicious cup of loose- leaf tea.
